Justin Bieber is honored for disruption

Bieber fever takes over Tribeca.
Justin Bieber, together with his manager, Scooter Braun, accepted the Disruptive Innovation Award at the Tribeca Film Festival for his innovative use of social media.
SOUNDBITE: Justin Bieber, singer, saying (English):
"I think that Scooter is an incredible guy and he's helped me just as much as I've helped him. So the fact that we've able to do this together and experience this, it's been great."
Bieber has become a household name, selling millions of records, books and so far amassing over 21 million Twitter followers.
SOUNDBITE: Scooter Braun, Justin Bieber's manager, saying (English):
"When I saw him the first time I always knew we would get here and I think now that he is 18 and becoming a man, you know, how good of a man, how he carries himself will define how far he goes because his talent is endless."
At just 18, the superstar continues to live his passions and share them with people all over the world through the power of technology.

"I didn't think it was possible. So when I put all my videos on Youtube it was kind of just for my friends and family. And to see it go so big and to have someone like Scooter who was able to help me, you know, show it to the world and do what I love I think it's been incredible."
It was thanks to his manager that the young hearthrob was discovered when his Youtube videos caught the attention of Braun six years ago....Hence the strong bond.
But that doesn't stop Braun from going into manager-mode...especially if he realizes Bieber unwittingly sparking controversy.

"I just realized that he's wearing a ring on his ring finger. So after we leave here - he's not engaged, he's not married, but I'm going to have to deal with that later."
