Inferno in northern India

STORY: A huge fire broke out at a unit of oil storage on the outskirts of the Hindu holy city of Varanasi in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.

The cause of the fire is not known.

Scores of fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the blaze but they were unable to control the inferno.

According to locals, workers at the depot had been safely evacuated and there were no reports of casualties.
