Passers-by help the wounded after an explosion in the Ukrainian city of Dnipropetrovsk.

The Interior Ministry said four bombs planted in rubbish bins exploded at short intervals, wounding almost 30 people.

The first blast occurred at 11:50 a.m. local time here at a tram stop, wounding five.

"There was an explosion and you see what happened. Here the tram is damaged too."

The second explosion came 30 minutes later next to a cinema, wounding seven.

The third blast followed shortly afterwards, next to a park, and the fourth explosion took place in the downtown area.

The Ukrainian prosecutor's office says it's treating the blasts as acts of terrorism.
