At least 20 people were injured and several women raped when supporters of rival political parties clashed in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone.

The clashes between members of the opposition Sierra Leone People's Party and the governing All People's Congress marked some of the worst political violence in the country since elections in 2007.

Al Jazeera's Harry Fawcett reports.
