Nato says it has made significant advances against the Taliban in recent months particularly in the country's violent Helmand province. There reconstruction projects have started in an attempt to cement military advances and establish a degree of stability in the region. But as Al Jazeera's Hamish Macdonald found in the Sangin Valley, the reality is that security remains a distant hope for most of the people in Helmand province.
