Hot ash and lava spew from Italy's Mount Etna.

Europe's tallest and most active volcano erupted on Thursday for the sixth time this year.

The main eruption is in the south-eastern crater, not far from the village of Zafferana Etnea, but so far Italian authorities have not issued any danger warning.

Etna, which is located above the Sicilian town of Catania, often erupts but rarely causes damage.
