At least 23 people died following fresh fighting in Syria on Friday, opposition groups said, as a UN deadline to end the bloodshed draws ever nearer.

The Local Coordination Committees of Syria said government forces attacked residential areas of Homs, Daraa and the capital, Damascus.

Euronews cannot independently verify the claims because media access to Syria is heavily restricted.
