Ashton Kutcher will play the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs in an upcoming indie biopic, reports Variety. The movie will be a sojourn through Jobs' incredible life, showing how a child of the 1960s counterculture became of the most celebrated tech visionaries ever.

One would think Apple fans would be thrilled to see their idol Steve Jobs immortalized on the silver screen, but some are less than impressed with director Jonathan Michael Stern's casting decision in Kutcher. The 34-year-old star has garnered a reputation for playing the loud-mouthed party boy, with credits that include That 70s Show, Dude, Where's My Car? and most recently, the CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men.

That's not to say Ashton Kutcher won't be a good fit for the role. As many have been quick to point out, he bears an uncanny resemblance to a young Steve Jobs.

And the similarities aren't just skin deep. Kutcher, like Jobs, is a technology pioneer of sorts, as he was one of the first celebs to embrace Twitter.
