Red Cross chief meets Syrian foreign minister

The president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Jakob Kellenberger, arrives in Syria on a two-day visit that started with a meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Mouallem.
Kellenberger's talks were expected to focus on the humanitarian situation in the areas affected by the fighting, and efforts made by the ICRC and the Syrian Red Crescent to respond to the needs of people there.
Kellenberger will also meet with Syrian Interior Minister Mohamad al-Shaar and Health Minister Wael al-Halqi.
