Following the critical acclaim EP Hide & Seek , MINUS CIRCUS is releasing a new pop rock cd Estuary - March 2012
MINUS CIRCUS, AKA Irish-born Gerry Scullion, taps into that rich storytelling alchemy that seems to intrinsic to Celtic DNA.
Minus Circus found success with acoustic EP Hide & Seek which featured the mixing/engineering genius of 11-time Grammy winner Rafa Sardina (Stevie Wonder, Luis Miguel, Macy Gray) and co-producer Cheche Alara (Christina Aguilera, Pink). Hide & Seek garnered media praise:
"Minus Circus produces the kind of music that should be played on all radio stations...by law!" Roddie Cleere (Ireland's John Peel) - WLRFM
Estuary follows singer/songwriter Scullion's life journey since the 2008 EP. As the title Estuary suggests, the cd mingles both pure river currents and the depths of the sea; a deeply personal chronicle of both light and dark shades of human emotion.
Foolproof - a dark and somewhat menacing declaration of the personal truth and intensity of all-consuming love; regardless of whether that love is returned.
Home is a nostalgic yearning for the warm embrace of family and friends half a world away -- a universal emotion experienced by every traveller who feels adrift. While Come Alive is a call to celebrate life.
"With rich influences ranging from U2, The Blue Nile, Wilco, Ryan Adams, to early R.E.M., Gerry's unique brand of progressive rock carries the message of hope and is here to captivate your heart and soul" - Claris Sayadian-Dodge
