There are few musicians that have the natural born ability to win over a crowd like Matty Monk. Born in outskirts of Ohio, 24-year old singer/songwriter Matty Monk was born into a skilled and musically inclined family. Growing up listening primarily to the Beatles and 60's country, Matty's father, mother and aunt were all heavily involved in music around town and in church. By the time he reached the fifth grade, Matty knew that music was his chosen path as he began to learn to play the drums as well as sing in his local church during his spare time. By the time he reached the 7th grade he had become very efficient playing the guitar and the piano soon followed. He then turned his attention to songwriting. Above everything in his musical arsenal however is his innate ability to sell a song with his powerful voice. Shortly after high school Matty began playing gigs around the Midwest and discovered his true passion for performing live. With the experience of playing hundreds of live shows, Matty prefers to play in smaller intimate venues but has opened up for LA based band The Aggrolites and played for crowds of up to 3,000 people. A mix of blues, soul and classic country, Matty's style and technique is truly indescribable. Still residing in the Ohio area, Matty has spent the last few years playing at the world-famous Big Bang Dueling Piano Bar where he entices and entertains audiences night after night. After spending several years as the front man for the Columbus based rock group called The Lovebones, Matty has teamed up with Zach Allen and Red Armor Productions to begin recording his first solo album in hopes of continuing to play live shows to reach out to as many new fans as possible. Matty has the talent and dedication to last in the industry and is the one to watch for years to come.
