CGRundertow DRAGON WARRIOR for NES Video Game Review
  • 12 years ago
Dragon Warrio review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Dragon Warrior for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Think back to 1989, and think about the Role Playing Games you may have heard of: Wizardy, Ultima, Advanced Dungeons And Dragons, etc. The RPG world was, believe it or not, heavily shifted to the western market. While Square's Final Fantasy, released in 1987 in Japan and 1990 in America, shares a large part of the thanks for changing this perspective, Dragon Warrior from Enix predates Square's flagship title by about a year in each region, and served as the stepping stone for a fantastic RPG series, as well as the building block for the Japanese role-playing market as a whole. Dragon Warrior offered players the chance to travel far and wide on an epic quest to rescue a fair princess and save the world from the evil DragonLord. Light a torch, and get a grinding stone ready, because this game is a big time investment...but one worth delving into if you're interested in RPG History. This video review features video gameplay footage of Dragon Warrior on the NES, and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Jonathan.
