For £250,000 you can have an audience with Prime Minister David Cameron. At least that's what Conservative Party Co-Treasurer Peter Cruddas told Sunday Times reporters posing as investors from Liechtenstein.
And the meeting is "confidential," Cruddas boasted. "You'll be able to ask him practically any question you want." The £250,000 also includes "premier league" access to ministers, Cruddas said, that would be "awesome for your business."
"If you're unhappy about something, we will listen to you and put it into the policy committee at No 10," he added.
Cruddas was forced to resign when the story broke and has since been thrown under the bus by David Cameron. "This is not the way we raise money in the Conservative Party, it shouldn't have happened," Cameron told reporters. "It's quite right that Peter Cruddas has resigned. I will make sure there is a proper party inquiry to make sure this can't happen again."
