(ROUGH CUT ONLY - NO REPORTER NARRATION)

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II finds time to greet a happy couple getting married at Manchester Town Hall on Friday (March 23), where Her Majesty and Prince Philip were being hosted for a lunch by the local mayor.

John and Frances Canning said it was the 'best wedding present' they could have imagined.

The couple had invited the Queen, in fact, after finding out she would be in the building at the time of the ceremony.

However after receiving a polite letter declining the invitation they didn't imagine the Queen and Prince Philip would actually stop by to say hello.

The Queen was in Manchester as part of her Diamond Jubilee tour.
