Schizophrenia is a chronic and severe brain disorder manifested by severely impaired behavior, emotions and thinking. Schizophrenic patients develop sensitivity towards light, smell, colors, sounds and other environmental features because they are unable to filter sensory stimuli. If left untreated, most schizophrenic patients withdraw themselves into a closed shell and avoid interactions with people. They may also lose the ability to take care of their regular day-to-day activities.
