A Nobel visit to Turkish refugee camp from the "Mother of the Revolution"

Yemeni activist and Nobel Peace Prize LaureateTawakul Karman visits a refugee camp in Turkey.

Around 15,000 Syrians now live in camps in Turkey.

Karman, an Islamist journalist and rights campaigner, has been dubbed the "Mother of the Revolution."

A mother of three and a prominent member of the Islamist opposition party, she was a key figure in the early days of the uprising against Yemen's Ali Abdullah Saleh last year.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) NOBEL PEACE WINNER TAWAKUL KARMAN SAYING:

"They are thinking for freedom and dignity. I am with them, all Arab world, all people of the world are with them. They will get their freedom soon. Bashar Assad will leave Syria. Syria will be free soon."

Karman is the first Arab woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize and at 33 she is the youngest Nobel Peace Laureate.

Over the past few weeks, the number of Syrians crossing into Turkey has increased dramatically with as many as 300 coming into Turkey every day.

The UN says more than 8,000 people have been killed in Syria since the start of the uprising began a year ago.
