Eddie Walters - 'Leven Thirty Saturday Night

Thanks to the feedback from one of my viewers I am now able to add the identity of complete personnel for this side: Eddie Walters uke and vocals, Tommy Dorsey on trumpet, Charlie Butterfield (tb), Jimmy Dorsey cl, as, Adrian Rollini (bassax), Frank Signorelli (p), Carl Kress (g) and Stan King on drums. The label states "with Novelty Accompaniment". Some other recordings by Eddie Walters around that period were credited Ben Selvin or one of his pseudonyms, but this particular rendition is impossible to identify. It is very well possible this actually is a totally different orchestra. As for Eddie Walters, although largely forgotten today, I considered he definitely deserved a second upload. Walters was a vocalist and ukulele player who was briefly popular on radio and records in the late 1920s and early 1930s. On records he cut about 10 sides. This brilliant record was made in 1930. I did my best to restore a couple of sound distortions, probably due to needle drops or wear. However complete repair was impossible. I trust this will not prevent listeners from enjoying this great rendition.
