Bus crash families return home

The parents of children killed in the Swiss bus crash arrived back home in Belgium after visiting the scene of the accident and helping to identify the bodies of their loved ones.

The grieving families arrived at a military airport outside Brussels just before midnight on Thursday (March 15).

The bodies of those killed in the crash were expected to be brought back to Belgium on Friday (March 16).

22 school children and six adults lost their lives when the bus carrying school groups home from a ski trip crashed into the wall of a tunnel.

The casualties were from the Belgian towns of Heverlee and Lommel.

Belgium was due to hold a national day of mourning on Friday, observing a one minute silence at 1000GMT.

The cause of the crash is still unclear.
