Award-winning artist Karen Chisholm (http://www.karenchisholm.com) is rising among the sea of singer-songwriter talent with radio friendly originals that range from addictive pop to dark, sensual blues to in-your-face rhythmic rock. Mixing sugar with grit, Chisholm's sweet, pure voice and lyrics live in your head as she brings life to the stage -- the good and the bad -- full of the sound of being human. A motivated go-getter who some call "a force of nature", Chisholm released her first album "Random Year" (http://www.karenchisholm.com/media) in Oct 2011 and it includes a legion of major label artists and producers including Ramy Antoun (Blackeyed Peas and Seal), Dave Wiley and Brian Batch (AlphaRev (http://www.alpharev.com), Hollywood Records), solo-artist Elizabeth Wills (http://www.elizabethwills.com), J.J. Plasencio (http://www.j2music.com) (Sixpence None The Richer) and more. Showing her wide-range and versatility Chisholm released her first video "Snow Globe" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6U92uJi9WM) in Oct 2010 which shows her serious side. In Feb 2011 she released an Animated Film Short Video called "Rhapsody" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9q6-kkgZxI&hd=1) produced by Troy Campbell (http://www.collectionagencyfilms.com) showing her sweet whimsical side. In May of 2011 she will be unveiling a full-production single release narrative video called "Garage Sale Queen" written for her mom which shows off her humor. Her second album is already in the works, with expected release date of February 2012. For more info contact: karen@karenchisholm.com or visit http://www.karenchisholm.com.
Chisholm has been through a lot in her young life, and the color of that experience is in every one of her songs. Raised by teenagers in Michigan, she found her own way in the world, landing in Texas as a young teen, putting herself through college and developing a career in music and graphic arts. She has survived the suicide of friends and battled cancer. It's all there in her songs -- not the details, but the sound and the feeling and the hard-earned wisdom.
