STORY: Israel's defense minister Ehud Barak made his way to the Pentagon on a rainy Wednesday morning (February 29) for a meeting with U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta. The visit comes amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran.

The two leaders are expected to discuss Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Iran rejects accusations that its nuclear program is a covert bid to develop a nuclear weapons capability, saying it is seeking to produce only electricity.

Barak's visit comes ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Washington on March 5, when he is expected to meet with U.S. President Barack Obama in the White House.
