In the Pink is much more than just a band. It is a group of 6 music fans coming together from different backgrounds collectively with a sole purpose of creating a unique sound blended with jazz, hip-hop, gospel, latin, and funk infused rock.
Formed in early 2008, In the Pink began as a Sunday night jam session at Beso Cantina. As a high energy improvisational act with an edgy hip-hop flare, the festivities then moved into 2009 westward to Friday nights at Annie's West. The climax of 2009 was then showcased at The Gibson Room, with the inception of "Word Up Wednesday's".
Lucky Lounge and its infamous Tuesday nights would be the next stop for In The Pink, while also igniting studio sessions for their debut release set for early 2011.
While holding multiple residencies in home-base Austin, Texas, In The Pink has played over hundreds of shows throughout Texas, headlined festivals, and have been blessed with the opportunity to create material, record and thrive as one of the city's premier live projects.
With their studio debut album set for release in early 2011 and a relentless pursuit of the "live band" forum, the cast of ITP undoubtedly have a full tank of intentions and seem fit to take on all-comers in 2011...
