Acoustra are a 4 piece original trad /rock group. They were formed in 2001 (for the craic) and have never looked back since. They have a wide variety of cover songs which they are known to play at gigs to rock the boat somewhat, but their real passion lies in song and tune writing. They have been writing and recording over the past 5 months and are very soon to release their debut single. The song/tune is called Aynu(the tiny dancer). It was written in an orphanage in Baku which is the capital of Azerbaijan. The band travel there extensively in aid of charity, namely orphanages of Azerbaijan and in association with The Irish Society of Baku, they continue to do so every March for one week. The goal is to raise money for these unfortunate children and with some very lucrative help along the way they have raised in a 4 year period €500,000. The President of Ireland has been involved in their charity, Lufhansa, Hyatt Hotel, Irish Rugby squad, to name but a few. With their help and the fans help along the way, there has been great many things provided for several children. This debut single will also provide for them as all proceeds are to be given to these orphanages.
