Cocophone have had many name changes since they started out as a two-piece called 'benson' in the summer of 2004. Their story is one of romance and crime both being with music. They became a three piece in autumn 2004 with the addition of a girl named Freya. 'benson' then became a two-piece again with members Aodh and Freya keeping the musical faith alive. Two years on they took the name Cocophone, continuing the practise of melodic innovation mostly by recording, gigging and yoga. Since September 2007, their own writing and recording sessions have resulted in a demo of 4 songs - each wrapped up in its own story and experience of the group. For the winter, Cocophone will be burning midnight oil by the korg machine; experimenting with pedals, percussions, harmonies and prescription medicine with plans of releasing a savagely musical EP around february..... Cocophone have been popularly dubbed as 'Simon & Garfunkel's afternoon children' and so, they expect a high standard for themselves.
