Turkey: Ex-PKK leader commemoration ends in clashes

Turkish police have clashed with people marking the 13th anniversary of the detention of a PKK rebel group leader.

Abdullah Ocalan founded and headed up the armed Kurdish separatists until his capture in Kenya in 1999, after a year-long manhunt.

His supporters attempted to march to Istanbul's main Taksim Square for a sit-in.
