Jessica Leigh took first place in three songwriting contests in 2010: at the Songwriter Serenade in Hallettsville, TX and in both the monthly and semi-annual Songwriter Showcase at The Bugle Boy in La Grange, TX. She was also voted by her fellow volunteers to perform at the Kerrville Folk Festival Staff Concert.
Her work has been lauded by Ukulele Player Magazine, and the world's top ukulele web mecca, UkuleleHunt.com, who in addition to naming her 2009 album Jammin' at Jackson's one of the "Essential Ukulele Records of the 2000s", also declared her former band, Shorty Long, to be "ukulele heroes."
Raina Leigh is an accomplished musician with tried-and-true songwriting skills, as well as an award-winning burlesque performer.
She led the Carousel Cabaret to win "Best Ensemble" at the Texas Burlesque Festival in 2008, 2009, and 2010, choreographing routines and designing costumes.
She has also been recognized by her peers at the Kerrville Folk Festival, where she has appeared in the Staff Concert, and on the Main Stage alongside Zoe Lewis.
Her theatrical training shines on the stage through her sweet and saucy voice, her storytelling lyrics and lively, Vaudevillian flair.
Jimmie Dreams has traveled the world playing funk and blues, and has had the pleasure to share the stage with Cyril Neville, The Soul Rebels Brass Band, Delbert McClinton, Marcia Ball, Raul Malo, The New Orleans All Stars, and many others.
