Following on from the great success of their debut single "A Day Like Today" Sundrive are working on their upcoming album release (in the new year), while recording has already started on their second album. Various radio sessions are being aired in the meantime with the John Creedon show on RTE Radio 1 being the most prestigious broadcast to date.
Michael is from Crumlin on the southside of Dublin. His influences range from The Beatles, Steve Earle, Shawn Colvin and Ron Sexsmith to Elvis Costello. Steve is also a Dubliner, hailing from the sprawling suburb of Tallaght. His influences include The Beatles, AC/DC and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He has been playing guitar since he was 7, played in his first band at 13 years of age and began writing his own songs soon afterwards. Michael and Steve have both worked as a professional musicians, backing many of Ireland's top performers both live and in the studio.
Steve and Michael met while working on a project for a third party in 1997 and began collaborating, initially merely providing guitar and bass duties for each others recordings and progressed to writing and recording as the band SUNDRIVE in 2002. They made their live debut at O2 in the Park on Sunday August 18th 2002, to an estimated 100,000 people!!!
