PRESENTED BY TOM MILLETT
David Hope was born in the West of Ireland in the early 1980's. He began creating music at an early age. David was drawn back in time to the sounds of blues, folk, rock and roots music - Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Paul Simon and Tom Petty. He left Ireland in 1998 and honed his musical skills at the London School of Music. Returning home he played to audiences anywhere from street corners and pubs to theatres and television.
He has supported many national and international artists including Mary Black, Jack L and most recently the legendary Mary Coughlan. It was following appearances on national television and the release of an EP that he attracted the attention of Mr Terry Woods of Sweeny's Men and the Pogues. The timing was right and the chemistry between Terry and David resulted in the production by Terry of David's first studio album entitled 'a picture'.
