Syrian state tv reported that at least 17 soldiers and civilians were killed here in Aleppo, in what they say were "terrorist explosions"
The attacks apparently targeted a branch of military intelligence and a security force base.
The opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights quoted residents as saying three blasts occurred, one near a security forces building, and that gunfire was heard.
Aleppo is Syria's commercial hub and had been relatively quiet during the 11-month uprising against Bashar al-Assad's rule, but has seen increasing protests and violence in recent weeks.
