An activist with dual nationality, Syrian and British, appeals for U.N. intervention in one of a series of narrated videos uploaded onto a social media website.
Activist and video blogger Danny Abduldayem, 22 years old, purportedly filmed videos in the Baba Amro district of Homs, which has experienced heavy shelling in recent days.
His posts document daily occurrences in a city which journalists have limited access to.
"This is the life we have gotten used to - rockets, bullets killing children dead in the street, body parts. Why isn't the world helping us? Where is the humanity in the world?"
Abduldayem says in one video uploaded onto a social media website, as he points to black smoke billowing into the sky. Another explosion can be heard followed by the ringing of gunfire in the background, as Abduldayem continues:
"This is Syria, Homs, Baba Amro, this is one neighbourhood. Imagine what is going on all over Syria then. This is one neighbourhood in Homs."
Tanks amassed outside opposition neighbourhoods in Homs on Friday as Alawite-led forces bombarded the Syrian city for the fifth day and residents expected a major push to subdue the centre of revolt against President Bashar al-Assad's rule.
Assad, bolstered by Russian support, ignored appeals from world leaders to halt the carnage.
