The aftermath of a bomb attack in southern Thailand.
A retired teacher was killed and 13 villagers wounded when a truck bomb exploded outside a public health office in the restive Muslim-dominated south.
Three of the wounded are reportedly in critical condition.
Police blamed Malay rebels for the attack, which also severely damaged government buildings and several cars.
This latest wave of violence in the province bordering Malaysia comes amidst outcry by local Muslims after army rangers shot dead four villagers suspected of being insurgents.
More than 5,000 people have been killed since the resurgence in 2004 of a shadowy, decades-old separatist rebellion, with attacks in the region an almost daily occurrence.
