Entering its 17th year, the Jameson Empire Awards is the only film awards to be voted for entirely by film fans. This year, the awards have a distinct Indian flavor as India's premier director and writer --Anurag Kashyap, known for his edgy and iconic film productions, is the special guest at the glitzy high-profile ceremony in London on March 23, 2012. Anurag Kashyap hosted the first ever Jameson Cult Film Club party in Mumbai today at Trilogy along with announcing the two shortlisted winners of the Jameson Done in Sixy Seconds contest.
The Jameson Empire Award is an accolade bestowed by Jameson and Empire, Britain's biggest selling film magazine, to recognize excellence of professionals in the local and global film industry.
The first awards ceremony was held on 1996, to honor outstanding film achievements of the 1995 film season. The most recent ceremony was held at Grosvenor House Hotel on March 27, 2011.
