World-class architecture and interior design firm dwp was commissioned to refurbish the signature shopping mall on the ground floor of the landmark Bahrain World Trade Centre (BWTC). The ultra-exclusive shopping complex is home to exclusive international brand names, boutiques and jewellery stores, as well as F&B outlets.
The Jewellery Court area was envisioned to give to a brand flagship luxury café setting for VIP customers. The design brief emphasized an original approach, at once modern but also referencing the classic history of the European garden setting. Incorporated into the design was the customer journey from VIP drop off through the existing retail centre, to add character to the destination experience with signature design elements. The centrally located café is raised with a reclaimed, herringbone parquet and a simple graphic palette of classic black and white with an accent of chartreuse.
