ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Superstar midfielder David Beckham has re-signed for an additional two years with the Los Angeles Galaxy. Beckham has spent the last five years playing with the team, and in 2011 helped bring them their first MLS cup since 2005. In a news conference Thursday (January 19) at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, Beckham told reporters that his decision to remain in the United States playing for Galaxy hinged on the desires of his wife, Victoria Beckham, and their four children: "At this stage in my career, at this moment in my life, my family -- they always are -- my family and my children are the most important thing to me. My children love living here." Beckham joined the Galaxy from Real Madrid in 2007 amid a wave of publicity, signing a league record $6 million a year contract with MLS hoping his high-profile would attract bigger crowds, more sponsors and more mainstream media attention.
