Australian police end prison riot

Australian police use tear gas and water cannons to quash a prison riot in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The demonstration began when 11 inmates climbed onto a roof at Fulham Correctional Centre in Victoria.
The prisoners were apparently upset over the possibility of losing the right to watch digital television.
Inmates were also angered by a move requiring them to use soft flexible toothbrushes over fears that regular toothbrushes could be used to craft weapons.
Prison authorities said the inmates began damaging buildings from the rooftop.
Media reports said those involved in the riot have been transferred to other prisons, and could face charges.
