U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama celebrated her 48th birthday on Tuesday (January 17) with dinner at a local steakhouse with her husband, President Barack Obama.
While the couple was out for dinner at BLT Steak near downtown D.C., a device appearing to be a smoke bomb was tossed over the fence of the White House compound, a Secret Service spokesman said.
They returned while an investigation into the incident was underway.
