http://www.nma.tv/ 'Old Hollywood' has lost perhaps its most legendary star. Oscar-winning Elizabeth Taylor died from heart failure on March 23, 2011. Taylor starred in over 50 movies. Her most celebrated role remains to be Cleopatra, despite its historical inaccuracies. Taylor's love life mirrored her prolific career. She was married eight times, twice to her co-star Richard Burton whom she divorced then wed again shortly after. Known for her glamour, Taylor draped herself in lavish jewelry. She had several popular perfume brands to her name, and is credited with sparking the 'celebrity fragrance' trend. But glamour led to excess, as Taylor frequented drug and alcohol rehab. But she wasn't a typical selfish celebrity addict. She raised millions of dollars for AIDS research. Taylor never shied away from controversy, even in old age. She was a vocal defender of Michael Jackson, and wed her last husband, whom she met at rehab, at Neverland Ranch. Today's 'celebrities' take note: Elizabeth Taylor defined what it means to be a true star.
