Eighteen pilot whales were successfully refloated on Saturday.
They are survivors of a pod of 25 whales that became stranded after beaching near the town of Nelson, New Zealand the previous night.
Seven whales died during the night, and experts are worried about the condition of the remaining whales.
The Department of Conservation will continue to monitor the progress of the whales in case they return to shore and beach again.
