Russian submarine fire almost out

Russian firemen douse a raging blaze aboard a nuclear submarine.
There has been no radiation leak and crew inside the submarine are monitoring the stricken vessel's nuclear reactors which have been shut down.
The fire is believed to have started on Thursday when wooden scaffolding caught fire during welding repairs at a navy shipyard in northern Russia.
Emergency and investigative officials say the fire has been mostly extinguished - by partially submerging the vessel - more than 20 hours after it began.
Russia's nuclear submarine fleet, once the pride of the Soviet Union, has been involved in a string of disasters, including the sinking of the Kursk in 2000 which killed all 118 on board.
President Dmitry Medvedev has ordered an investigation into the incident.
