Mortars fire, mock targets are attacked at sea and paratroopers descend to earth in an Iranian state TV broadcast of Iran's naval exercises.
Friday, the seventh day of Iran's naval drill in the Strait of Hormuz comes as tension builds between the West and Iran over its nuclear program.
In the past week, Iran threatened to close the key shipping lanes if the West imposes sanctions on its oil exports.
A semi-official news agency reports that Iran plans to fire long-range missiles during the exercise on Saturday, a show of force Iran's deputy naval commander says will prepare the navy for confronting the enemy in war.
Iran has long-range missile systems that could reach Israel and U.S. bases in the Middle East.
The U.S. and Israel have not ruled out military action against Iran if diplomacy fails to resolve the dispute over Iran's nuclear program, which Tehran says is peaceful but the West says is a cover to build a bomb.
Iran has said it will retaliate if attacked.
