Ferrari History: In the mid 50s the Formula 1 car manufacturers became aware of the benefits of having the engine behind the driver. Also Ferrari followed the rear-engined revolution with the 156 F1 model and won the World Constructors' Championship and the Formula One World Drivers' Championship in 1961. In 1961 Ferrari launched the 248 SP model characterized by the rear engine that participated in various competitions in the 60s. In 1964 Ferrari won again Formula One Driver's World Championship with the new 158 F1 model driven by John Surtees.
