The scene of a rocket attack in the Iraqi city of Kirkuk.
At least one person was killed and eight others, including a policeman, were wounded when two Katyusha rockets landed on a Shi'ite mosque on Tuesday.
The attack targeted Shi'ite pilgrims gathered to mark Ashura in the ethnically diverse city.
Ashura is the most important annual rite distinguishing Shi'ite Muslims from Sunnis, and commemorates the slaying of the Prophet Mohammad's grandson Hussein in 680AD.
Sunni militants have frequently attacked Shi'ite pilgrims over the past decade.
On Monday three bombs tore through crowds of pilgrims in the Iraqi city of Hilla, killing dozens of people and wounding more than 60 others.
