The African country of Malawi has one of the highest rates of HIV/AIDS infection in the world. Some 10.6 per cent of the population between the ages of 15 and 49 are affected by the virus.
But that figure would be a lot worse without the work of international humanitarian organization Médecins sans Frontières (MSF), which introduced antiretroviral therapy to Malawi ten years ago. One man’s story illustrates the benefits of ARV treatment.
