On November 24th 2011, Ales Bialiatski, FIDH Vice-President and President of the Human Rights Center "Viasna" was sentenced to four and a half years strict regime detention and confiscation of his properties.
The day after the verdict, FIDH and its member organisations rallied in front of the Belarusian Embassy in Paris to call for his unconditionnal and immediate release.
