Philippines blast kills three

A Philippine man is carried out on a stretcher after a bomb ripped through a guest house in the southern port city of Zamboanga.
The improvised bomb, which triggered a fire, killed three and injured another 27.
Two of the victims are in serious condition in hospital.
One of the injured said the Sunday blast sparked panic among guests.
SOUNDBITE) (Filipino) BLAST VICTIM AND WITNESS, AIRA GREFALDA, SAYING:
"There was a sudden explosion on the other side of our room on the second floor. Everyone panicked, and people were running around. A lot got wounded. There was blood."
No one has claimed responsibility for the blast, but police suspect Islamist militants who are active in the region.
