'Black Friday' is the day of sales following Thanksgiving.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) SHOPPER ADAM DELEARY SAYING:
"If I get it here for 199, it's worth waiting 20 hours. It doesn't bother me because I'm off from work, my family understands, so why not sit here and wait for the best deal."
Some shoppers camped out for hours to get the best bargains.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) SHOPPER CRYSTAL HENNINGSON SAYING:
"I'm looking for a bunch of Star Wars stuff."
(SOUNDBITE) (English) SHOPPER DESIREE RING SAYING:
"There's a nice camera in there that's only 19.99 for kids and that's one of the things."
This year some stores opened on Thanksgiving evening itself, getting a jump on the traditional beginning to the U.S. shopping season.
