Today, yeast is produced industrially in yeast factories, where the work of yeast specialists consists in selecting the best strain cells and multiplying them. The yeast cells develop therefore very quickly, by feeding on sugars - generally beetroot or sugarcane molasses. The number of yeast cells is multiplied by 50 in just one day!
