U.S. President Barack Obama left Washington D.C on Wednesday (November 2) for a summit of the G20 major world economies in Cannes, France.
The summit has been upstaged by a surprise Greek move to call a referendum on an EU/IMF bailout.
Several euro zone leaders were expected to meet on Thursday morning (November 3) in Cannes to discuss the Greek move that caused panic on global markets. Germany and France pressed Greece on Wednesday to make up its mind fast whether it wants to stay in the euro zone.
