John Lasseter, the chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday (November 2).
Lasseter is the director of groundbreaking films such as "Toy Story", "A Bug's Life", "Up" and "Cars".
He joined The Walt Disney Co. in 1979 and eventually became an animator with Walt Disney Feature Animation. He was later a member of the Computer Division of Lucasfilm.
Apple's late Chief Executive Steve Jobs acquired The Computer Division of Lucasfilm in 1986 when it became Pixar. Lasseter remembered Jobs:
SOUNDBITE John Lasseter, director, saying (English):
"The only thing Steve Jobs ever asked of me was, 'John, make it great."
Lasseter's star ceremony coincided with the Blu-ray and DVD release of Pixar's "Cars 2".
