Live At The Winterland (Post Street and Steiner Street)
San Francisco, CA
Tue. December 26th, 1967

This is the first official concert with Vince Treanor as road manager. He was
with the band from august 1967 after the exhibition at the Hampton Beach Casino.
Unfortunately Otis Redding died a couple of weeks before the show and Chuck Berry
took his place.
This is the first of three nights at the Winterland.
Most notable about the show was Morrison singin "poor Otis dead and gone, left
me here to sing his song" during When The Music's Over.

The other thing was that toward the end of their set Morrison was really going
off on tangents and there was no rhythm which really seemed to piss off John
Densmore who got so fed up that he threw down his drum sticks and walked off stage
for the rest of the set.

Other artists: Chuck Berry, Salvation
Ballroom capacity: 5400
