In the eleventh day of Dr. Conrad Murray's trial for involuntary manslaughter, the court heard from the prosecution's first expert witness, Dr. Alon Steinberg - a cardiologist for the California Medical Board. Steinberg said, in his opinion, Murray acted with negligence saying that even if the defense's claim was true - that Michael Jackson gave himself a lethal dose of propofol while Murray was out of the room - Murray would still be responsible for his death. Steinberg said that leaving Jackson in the room alone was like leaving a baby on a countertop.
Angelina Jolie continued her visit of Libya on Wednesday (October 12). The actress and U.N. Goodwill Ambassador toured destruction and met with transitional government officials. She praised Libyans' participation in their homegrown revolution, and said she stood in solidarity with the country as it sought to become a nation of laws.
A collection of vintage guitars owned by actor Richard Gere has fetched nearly 1 million dollars at auction. The sale of 110 guitars and amplifiers at Christie's auction house included brands such as C.F. Martin, Gibson, and Fender. Gere said he parted with the instruments to support global humanitarian causes.
